Anxiety
Anxiety therapy, with someone who understands the context
Anxiety is the most common reason people come to Serenica. It rarely arrives as one clean problem: it shows up as sleep that will not come, a chest that will not settle, decisions that feel impossible, and a mind that runs the same loop at 3am.
What it can look like
- A racing heart, tight chest or shortness of breath
- Persistent worry that is hard to switch off
- Trouble sleeping, or waking with a sense of dread
- Avoiding places, people or decisions
- Irritability and difficulty concentrating
What therapy does about it
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has the strongest evidence base for anxiety, and most psychologists on Serenica are trained in it. Treatment usually focuses on understanding what keeps the anxiety going, reducing avoidance gradually, and building tolerance rather than trying to eliminate anxiety altogether.
